National litigation policy soon
The Union Law and Justice ministry has initiated consultations with stakeholders
New Delhi: In an effort to make the justice delivery mechanism more effective, the government is soon likely to introduce a National Litigation Policy. The Union Law and Justice ministry has initiated consultations with stakeholders across the country on the issue.
It is understood that major point of discussion is expected to be that departments do not sue each other and cases are settled through arbitration and reconciliation.
As part of the policy it is also expected that the ministries and departments will be encouraged to amend laws to reduce court cases. The government is also keen on introducing laws to make the country investor-friendly.
