AAP leaders willing to join Anna Hazare's protest in Delhi
New Delhi: The AAP on Friday said its leaders were willing to join Anna Hazare's protest against the amendments made in the Land Acquistion Act if the veteran social activist wants them to do so.
"Anna has always maintained that he does not share any platform with any political party. Till now he has said that Aam Aadmi Party volunteers supporting his cause are welcome to join him.
"But he has to specifically say if we can join him. If he permits us then we will certainly join. By heart, we are with Anna," party spokesperson Dilip Pandey told reporters here.
The Gandhian activist, who launched a massive anti-corruption agitation which shook the then UPA government, will hold a two-day dharna at Jantar Mantar on February 23 and 24 against the amendments made in the Land Acquisition Act.
A large number of AAP volunteers still owe their allegiance to the Ralegan-Siddhi based social activist.
The party is also opposing the "anti-farmers" amendments made in the Land Acquisition Act in December last year. The party will also undertake statewide protests in Haryana tomorrow over the amendments made in the act.
