Kissing comes ‘naturally’ for Ayushmann Khurrana
The actor talks about his upcoming YRF film Dum Laga Ke Haisha
Ayushmann Khurrana is always positive. He doesn’t let the failure of a film affect him. “I get detached very soon, and move ahead always,” he says. The actor is now looking forward to his new project, Yash Raj Films’ Dum Laga Ke Haisha. “It showcases the real India... It’s different from the normal, glossy YRF films. You won’t see the heroine draped in chiffon saris, etc. The male character is an illiterate person who is forced into an arranged marriage with a fat girl whom he does not love. They are an odd couple.”
Meanwhile, Ayushmann is very impressed with first-timer Bhumi Pednekar, who, he says, went through her first kissing scene with flying colours. “She was not at all nervous while the kissing scene was being shot. In fact, she was comfortable.”
When asked if the scene took long to shoot, he says, “Smooch ke liye ghantey thode lagtey hai… I do not remember how many takes it took. This was Bhumi’s first kissing scene. However, I am used to doing kissing scenes. Kissing comes naturally. We do not do any workshops for kiss sequences,” he smiles.
So, is he bored of kissing so many of his leading ladies? “Why?” he laughs, “It’s an act which needs to be done in order to justify the story and the scene. There is no question of kissing so many heroines.” And, when did he kiss for the first time? “It was late… I was 15 then, in school,” says Ayushmann.
