Vanilla Ice released after being charged for burglary
According to the recording artist, the whole situation was a 'misunderstanding'
Florida: Singer and rapper Vanilla Ice has been released from custody in Florida after being arrested on charges of burglary and grand theft. The 'Ice Ice Baby' was accused of breaking into an an abandoned home and stealing some items.
The recording artist and home-improvement-show host had been renovating a home next to the victim's. Police in Lantana said that some of the stolen items were found at his property.
Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle, hosts a show called 'The Vanilla Ice Project'. On the show, he buys homes, renovates and then sells them.
The 47-year-old was charged Wednesday with burglary of a residence and grand theft and taken into custody. He was released from the jail Wednesday night on a $6,000 bond.
He told TV station WPTV that the situation was a "misunderstanding" that's been "blown out of proportion."
