WC 2015: US Embassy celebrates Afghanistan’s ‘premature’ win
Kabul: The World Cup fever is big in Afghanistan with their national team playing in the mega event for the first time.
The story of Afghanistan’s journey in cricket is heartwarming. The war-torn nation defied all odds and made their way to the top league of cricket. No surprise they enjoy a huge fan following and are adored by cricket supporters across the globe.
So much so that, even US Embassy in Kabul wished the Afghanistan cricket team for their World Cup journey ahead of team's opening game against Bangladesh on Wednesday.

However, they have either goofed it up or found an interesting way to encourage the Afghans as they Tweeted even before the first innings of the match got over.
Congratulations to #Afghanistan for their win over #Bangladesh in the Cricket World Cup #CWC15 #AFGvsBAN

The US Embassy in Kabul was quick to realise that the Tweet was a bit 'premature' but it will continue to cheer the team.
Premature posting but we are still cheering for team Afghanistan at the #CWC15! #AFGvsBAN
