Pansare murder case: Suspects' sketches being prepared
Mumbai: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday said the probe in the attack on veteran communist leader Govind Pansare was on the right track and sketches of the attackers were being prepared.
Pansare and his wife were shot at by unidentified persons in Kolhapur on Monday and are currently undergoing treatment. Talking to reporters at the state secretariat, Fadnavis said Pansare's wife had now recovered enough to talk.
"Based on her statement, sketches of the attackers are being prepared. This will help police nab the culprits," he said.
Fadnavis admitted that there was similarity in the attack on Pansare, who was in the forefront of anti-road toll agitation and that on the rationalist Narendra Dabholkar. He, however, said it was too early to say if both the incidents were linked.
"It (link between two attacks) can be ascertained after the probe is completed," said Fadnavis.
