WC 2015 IND vs PAK: Fans crowd Sachin Tendulkar’s house to celebrate

The Indian cricket icon sulks not being able to join the celebrations with the mob

Mumbai: For the first time in 23 years, the Pakistan cricket team did not have to do their homework to get the best Indian batsman out – Sachin Tendulkar. Though Mahendra Singh Dhoni and boys maintained the winning streak, fans still wanted to celebrate the moment chanting, “Sachin Sachin” – which still probably reverberates in the Master’s ears.

On February 15, when India beat the arch-rivals by 76 runs – the highest-ever margin out of all their World Cup meetings – the Tendulkar fans crowded outside his house to share the moment with the icon.

Tendulkar regretted not being able to join them for the fear of being mobbed. So, he resorted to Twitter to voice his feelings.

“Don't know what I did.. some fans are outside my house... Celebrating... Wish I could have joined them,” he tweeted.

The last time the two teams met, in the semifinal of ICC World Cup 2011, Tendulkar had scored an 85.

Not only that, his contribution towards India’s win against Pakistan in the mega event started from 1992 – his first World Cup. He top-scored with 54 and picked up a wicket bagging the Man of the Match award.

In 1996, he scored 31 and then, in the English summer of 1999 – he scored 45.

But till date, his best remains the 98 off 75 in 2003.
