Sivaratri to be celebrated in grand manner with 1 crore Shivalingas in Vizag
Visakhapatnam: Member of Rajya Sabha T. Subbarami Reddy said that he is conducting Maha Sivaratri festival in a grand manner at Vizag for the welfare of people of Vizag.
He said that blessings of Lord Siva have protected the city from the Hudhud cyclone. He addressed the media on Monday and said, “We have been conducting the Maha Sivaratri for the past 25 years with the involvement of the public. Maha Kumbhabhishekam will be performed to one crore Siva Lingas. Mahayagam will be performed at 3 pm. Later, devotional and cultural programmes will be conducted for the public who will be on Jagarana.”
Well-known film director K. Raghavendra Rao will be honoured by TSR Kalaapeetham with the title of Viswa Vikhyata Darsaka Brahma.
TSR said that he is conducting the festival for the blessings of God. Speaking on the occasion, film actor M. Mohan Babu said that “TSR is people’s friend and he is working for the people for the past few decades. “I feel proud to have a broad-minded friend like Subbarami Reddy, ” he said.
Film and political personalities Chiranjeevi, Brahmananda and others will participate.
