Man thrashed for posing as Nagarjuna’s son Akhil on Facebook

Akhil is soon going to make his debut and already has a devoted fan following

Hyderabad: A 24-year-old man was caught and beaten up by a young woman, her brothers and friends for impersonating Nagarjuna’s son Akkineni Akhil on Facebook. The man was handed to the police. However, the cops refused to book a case as they found no case of cheating after verifying the FB chats.

According to the 23-year-old woman, an event manager from Kukatpally Housing Board Colony, one Devineni Abhinav became her friend on Facebook using a fake account of Akkineni Akhil.

He chatted with her posing as Akhil and even proposed to her. When the woman found out that the man was using a fake account, she continued to chat with him to try and tracked him down.

After tracing him, her brothers and friends beat him up and handed him over to the police. However, officials of Cyber Crime police checked his chat history and found nothing ‘chargeable’ in the chat. “It is true that this person had a fake account. However, there was no cheating or stalking involved. The woman found out that it was a fake account within three days, but she continued to chat and flirt with him in order to track him,” said Cyber Crime inspector S. Rajashekhar Reddy.

In fact, the woman too pretended to flirt with him to lure him into meeting her. When he came to meet her, he was roughed up. She alleged that he has been maintaining the account to flirt with girls on FB.
