Amberpet police said they booked a case under the Gaming Act
Hyderabad: The east zone task force arrested five people including a BJP state committee member while they were allegedly gambling in a house at Amber-pet. The police seized Rs 18,000 and five mobile phones from them. The accused people are Rangampally Raju, a BJP state committee member, G. Laxman Goud, a member of the Amberpet Devastana Samiti and three others.
Police said they met in Raju’s building and were gambling when the East Zone team came.
Amberpet police said they booked a case under the Gaming Act. In another case, Rajendranagar police raided a gambling den at NM Guda on Sunday, and arrested four people. Rs 19,000 was recovered from the accused.
