Teenager undergoes world's first penis reduction surgery
The 17-year-old complained that he couldn’t have sex or play sports

An American teenager's manhood measured seven inches in length and had a circumference of 10 inches when flaccid. The boy who complained that his penis size was too large, restricted his ability to play sports or have sex has now undergone the life-changing operation.
Surgeons said the shape of his penis like a 'rugby ball.' According to The Huffington Post, when flaccid, his penis was thought to have measured seven inches in length and had a circumference of 10 inches - around the size of a grapefruit and shaped like an American football.
Rafael Carrion - a urologist at the University of South Florida - who treated the teen, was quoted saying, "There comes a time in every urologist's career that a patient makes a request so rare and impossible to comprehend that all training breaks down and leaves the physician speechless."
"That question was ‘can you make my penis smaller’? His penis had inflated like a balloon. It sounds like a man's dream - a tremendously inflated phallus - but unfortunately although it was a generous length, it's girth was just massive, especially around the middle.”
The shape and massive size of the penis was the result of the teen’s sickle cell anemia. Irregular blood cells would block penile blood vessels and lead to swelling and priapism — a long-lasting and painful erection. This had happened three times since the boy was 10, which “progressively led” to a deformed penis, according to the Journal.
Carrion said he couldn’t find any precedent for penis reduction surgery. His team ended up opting to slice along the teen's circumcision scar, unwrap the skin, and then remove chunks of tissue from each side.
