Melbourne: Steven Finn completed a five-wicket haul and is this World Cup’s first bowler to complete a hat-trick. Although picking up a hat-trick, Finn went for 71 runs after England’s poor bowling performance saw the Australian batsmen take full advantage of their mistakes.

Finn completed his hat-trick at the business end of the Australian innings- in the 49th over picking up Brad Haddin, the danger man Maxwell and then Mitchell Johnson, who was caught by James Anderson.

The hat-trick however cannot be reflected as Australia had posed a huge total of 342 runs.

England cricket's governing body congratulated Finn for his excellent performance.
