Watch: Google introduces new ‘Android chorus’

The Android chorus is the work of the Google Japan team in Tokyo

Look at what happens when 300 smartphones and tablets are connected together and asked to sing the same song.

The "Android chorus," as it has been dubbed, is the work of the Google Japan team in Tokyo.

It consists of 300 Android devices, each running a different Androidify character, but all performing the same song with only the handset or tablet's in-built speakers for amplification.

The idea for this mobile digital choir, which will be preforming live in Tokyo at Omotesando Hills until Sunday, came through trying to find a novel way to visualize Google's new Android operating system message: 'Be together, but not the same.'
