Hyderabad: Telangana Congress Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council D. Srinivas on Thursday said it is for Council chairman K. Swamy Gowd to act on the disqualification petitions filed against eight MLCs who have defected to the TRS. Speaking to newsmen at the CLP on Thursday, Mr Srinivas said in view of the observations of the Hyderabad High Court, the chairman of the Legislative Council, with whom the disqualification petitions are pending, needs to take a decision.
Mr Srinivas held a meeting at the CLP office with MLCs and prepared a memorandum to be submitted to the chairman upon his return from a tour on Monday. Mr Srinivas said Mr Gowd needs to consider the spirit behind the petitions, both, before him and also filed before the Hyderabad High Court, and act judiciously and expeditiously.
