Young music sensation Anirudh Ravichander has been chosen as a goodwill ambassador by Rotary International for its social service initiatives, particularly for polio awareness and the ‘Clean India’ movement. The organisation also conferred upon him the ‘Icon of the Decade’ Award.
“I feel honoured by this award and being chosen to be goodwill ambassador for their service-oriented programmes. I agreed since this is for a cause,” Anirudh told DC. The young musician joins iconic Indian celebrities, like Amitabh Bachchan, Rajinikanth and A.R. Rahman, who have also endorsed the cause of polio eradication on earlier occasions.
