RBI to issue Rs 10 bank notes with rupee symbol and letter N
Mumbai: Reserve Bank said that it will soon issue Rs 10 denomination bank notes in the 'Mahatma Gandhi Series-2005', incorporating rupee symbol and inset letter 'N' in the numbering panel.
"It will incorporate rupee symbol on the obverse and the reverse, with inset letter 'N' in both the numbering panels, bearing the signature of Governor Raghuram Rajan, and the year of printing '2014' printed on the reverse of the banknote," RBI said in a notification.
The design of these notes to be issued now is similar in all respects to the Rs 10 denomination bank notes in Mahatma Gandhi Series- 2005' issued earlier, the notification said. RBI also said all the bank notes in the denominatio of Rs 10 issued by the Bank in the past will continue to be legal tender.
