Hyderabad: Six H1N1-related deaths were reported on Thursday taking the death toll to 59 this year. Four deaths were reported at Gandhi Hospital. One of the deceased is a 39-year-old patient from Azampura, who was shifted to Gandhi Hospital from a private hospital in a critical condition.
A 65-year-old woman from Karnataka, who was visiting the city, had also contracted the virus and succumbed while undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital. two more patients, from Nizamabad and Ranga Reddy, too passed away on Thursday.
Two other deaths occurred at private hospitals. The patients were from Karminagar and Prakasam districts. A senior health officer said, “Private hospitals are not reporting the deaths regularly. Some of them are not willing to admit that the deaths are due to complications caused by H1N1.”
