Hyderabad Metro told to fix roads where works has been completed
Work on Uppal-Mettuguda stretch service roads to be expedited
Hyderabad: The state government has asked officials to immediately improve the condition of roads where work on Metro stations has been completed and to begin work on pavements so that the approach roads to the stations can be accessible to people.
High on the priority list is improving the service roads from Uppal to Mettuguda. For that, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and Hyderabad Metro Rail have to coordinate and ensure that the works are carried out on time.
HMR and GHMC have been directed by chief secretary Rajiv Sharma to ensure that the works are carried out at speed at these locations, as the corridor has to be inaugurated on March 21.
A senior HMR official said, “We are going to ensure that the areas outside the Nagole and Uppal stations have world-class facilities. Areas around other stations too will be done up after the works are complete. March 10 is our deadline and we are working towards it.”
There is a meticulous planning going on, but the problem is co-ordination between the two agencies, observed officers.
