Telangana to get a boost in water supply
Hyderabad: Telangana goverment finally christened a water grid “Telangana Drinking Water Project” and also floated a new Telangana Drinking Water Supply Corporation Limited for execution of the mega project providing tap water to every home. Chief Minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who returned from New Delhi after a five day hectic tour, got down to business and took up the drinking water scheme for which he plans to ask for Centre’s help.
KCR also decided to hold a meeting every week to oversee the implementation of the project across Telangana, construction of intake wells, laying of pipelines among others. Besides, the water grid, he also discussed bringing Godavari waters to Hyderabad City.
“The scheme should meet drinking water needs of people for not only next the 15 years but up to 30 years. The scheme should be a model for the country.”theCM reportedly told in the meeting.He asked the officials to ensure quality in every aspect of the work to complete part of intake wells by May.
