Digital lockers on the anvil
Hyderabad: The Centre will launch a beta version (trial version) of the ‘Digital Locker’ in a day or two for public feedback, a top Central government official said. The Digital Locker will allow the public to store government-issued documents and certificates on cloud and then submit the same from there itself. This is intended to cut paperwork, costs and hassles involved.
Mr R.S. Sharma, secretary, Department of Electronics and Information Technology, said the beta version of Digital Locker would be available on the government website mygov.in in a day or two. “All the three flagship projects Jan Dhan Yojana, Aadhaar and Digital India will be linked in this way. The beta version will be made available on Tuesday or a day later,” Mr Sharma said. He was speaking at the India Geospatial Forum 2015 here on Tuesday.
