Kidnapped child returned to mom

Hyderabad: In less than a day’s time, the North Zone’s Tukaramgate police solved the kidnap case of Bhuvaneshwar, a two and a half-month-old boy. The prime accused, G. Sangeetha, who is the neighbour and four others were arrested in connection with the crime. The accused had sold the baby to a couple for Rs 1.6 lakhs. The accused were identified as G. Sangeetha, her son N. Aravind, 26, Narsingoju Sathish Kumar, 28, Devi Rajaiah, 45, and Devi Shyamala, 45.

A complaint was lodged by P. Varalaxmi, the mother on Monday, in which she stated that she had fallen asleep next to her child after feeding him. When she woke up the child was missing. She suspected Sangeetha as she frequently visited her house. According to North Zone DCP G.Sudheer Babu, during course of investigation, it was found that Sangeetha and her son had kidnapped the boy and took him to JBS from where they went to Sultanabad in a cab .

The duo handed over the child to Rajaiah and Shyamala for Rs 1.6 lakhs. Sangeetha confessed to the crime after she was nabbed. Based on her confession the others were picked up by the cops. The accused will be produced before the court and sent to judicial remand.
