Sonam Kapoor's jewellery goes missing from home, files police complaint
Mumbai: Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor has reportedly filed a complaint with the Juhu police after a piece of diamond jewellery went missing from her home. The police have registered a case of theft against the unidentified person.
The actress lodged a complaint under Section 380 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). According to a report in Mid-day, the actress said she was in Bandra attending a party when she was wearing the now stolen necklace. After returning home, she placed the jewellery in a drawer in her room at around 2am, but it was later found missing.
The jewellery was given to her by a famous jewellery brand as part of an endorsement deal and is approximately worth Rs 5 lakh. The report also stated that the police have begun interrogating the domestic help at Sonam’s residence for the investigation.
The police will also examine the CCTV footage of the party that the actress attended to know if she had the piece of jewellery on her person when she left the venue.
