Shah Rukh Khan's 'Fan' to release on Eid?
Mumbai: It was recently announced by Yash Raj Films, that the release date of the Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Fan’ has been postponed because the film will be using never-seen-before VFX.
Producer Aditya Chopra then offered the initial release date of ‘Fan’, August 14 to his good friend Karan Johar for the release of his film ‘Brothers’ which stars Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra.
According to a report in DNA, Shah Rukh, Aditya and director Maneesh Sharma have beein planning on locking September 23 as the new date, which happens to be Bakri Eid. While Salman Khan’s ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ will be releasing on Eid-Ul-Fitr in July, two weeks before ‘Brothers.’
A source was quoted as saying, “The other holidays or festival release dates are already booked by other stars. None of the other holiday dates were free-be it Eid, Diwali, Gandhi Jayanti or Christmas. It was only Bakri Eid which gave Fan a window for a proper holiday release. Else, the team would have had to shift the film to 2016-something SRK himself did not want.”
As Bakri Eid falls on a Wednesday this year, the film will have a five-day opening week. The report also stated that if the team doesn’t finalise on Bakri Eid as the release date. ‘Fan’ may not release in 2015. It will be pushed forward to 2016.
