Boko Haram hijacks Cameroon bus, abducting at least 20

Militants hijacked a bus full of market-goers near the border area of Koza

London: Suspected fighters from Nigerian Islamist group Boko Haram have reportedly seized a bus in northern Cameroon, abducting at least 20 people, residents said.

Militants hijacked a bus full of market-goers near the border area of Koza and drove it toward the border with Nigeria, reported the BBC. Some reports put the total number of those abducted in Cameroon as high as 30.

Boko Haram has recently started targeting neighbouring areas of Cameroon and Niger. Nigerian presidential and parliamentary elections have been postponed from February 14 to March 28 due to the insurgency.
