The Xiaomi Mi 4 is a 5-incher Android smartphone sporting a full HD IPS OGS LCD display and is powered by a Snapdragon 801 chipset with a quad-core 2.5GHz processor. 3GB of RAM and an Adreno 330 GPU are part of the SoC, which helps improve the performance by a huge amount. The Mi 4 has two storage variants and it has an internal storage limited to 16GB and 64GB respectively. The storage cannot be extended with a Micro SD, but one can plug in a USB flash drive using the USB OTG feature. The Mi 4 sports a 13MP camera on the rear and an 8MP camera on the front, both featuring sensors from Sony. Lastly, the Mi 4 is feature-rich and adds on an IR blaster and an FM radio, which is not seen on other handsets. The Mi 4 sports a premium look with its stainless steel chamfered frame and an elegant white glossy finish. The smartphone is powered by a 3080mAh battery and runs on Xiaomi’s own MIUI V6 operating system, based on Android KitKat.

Sadly, the Xiaomi Mi 4 will face a bit of a tough competition with a rival and new entrant, OnePlus One, which sports the same identical hardware, except the IR blaster and the FM radio. However, the OnePlus One benefits with 4G ready network and an NFC chip. The OnePlus also has an upper hand with its 64GB variant selling lower than the Mi 4 64GB version by Rs 2,000.

Both handsets will go on sale on February 10, 2015 and will see online flash sales, which will make it difficult for consumers to get their hands on a product. The Xiaomi and OnePlus handsets are not available in stores and only available online via flash sales. The Mi 4 will be available in 16 GB for now and the One sports the 64GB version. So which one will you opt for?
