First look: Karan Johar as Kaizad Khambatta in 'Bombay Velvet'
Mumbai: As the anticipation builds up for the release of Anurag Kashyap’s much-awaited ‘Bombay Velvet’, the makers have released the first look of Karan Johar’s character. The director will be seen in a pivotal role for the first time in a film.
Karan will be essaying the role of Kaizad Khambatta, along with Ranbir Kapoor who plays Johnny Balraj and Anushka Sharma who plays Rosie Noronha.

'Bombay Velvet', based on historian Gyan Prakash's book 'Mumbai Fables', narrates the story of how the city in '60s became a metropolis against the backdrop of love, greed, violence and jazz music. Raveena Tandon, who was slated to play a jazz singer in the film, has opted out of it due to the changes in the sequences in the post-production stage

Recently director Anurag Kashyap denied reports that the film has been postponed again. Kashyap took to Twitter to set the record straight and said that the film will release on its scheduled date that is May 15.
