Delhi Assembly polls: Many heads may roll if BJP loses
New Delhi: The BJP remained tight-lipped on Saturday evening after all the exit polls in the city indicated that Arvind Kejriwal led AAP is likely to get a clear majority and form the next government in Delhi. The Delhi BJP is expected to undergo a major re-shuffle if it fails to form the government. Sources said that worried about the party’s performance, BJP chief Amit Shah took stock of the voter turnout on Saturday.
The party was heavily banking on a huge voter turnout to get an advantage in its close contest with the AAP. Mr Shah had asked party workers to pay no heed to the numerous opinion polls and instead stress on the findings of the internal surveys, which were more favourable to the BJP. The party left no stone unturned to woo voters. The city woke up on Saturday to find almost all the major newspapers carrying full-page ads showcasing the NDA government’s eight-month track record.
