Watch: Former TDP supporter lashes out at Naidu govt, fights land pooling
Video expressing anger goes viral on Internet
Guntur: A video showing protest by a woman against collection of fertile lands for the new capital went viral on Facebook and WhatsApp. Interestingly, a page was created “We support Boyapati Sudharani Chowdary” on Facebook and her videos were attracting viewers.
B. Sudharani of Krishnayapalem village, was a staunch supporter of the Telugu Desam, but now she is against the party for the using fertile lands to build a new capital. She expressed her anguish against the land pooling scheme in videos that are largely circulating in the social media. Further, the police came to her house and conducted an inquiry about the video.
Ms Rani lamented that there was no freedom to express her views under this government and demanded Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to circulate CRDA rules and norms in Telugu before pooling lands.
Ms Rani said that her family lives on cultivation and they would lose their livelihood if their lands are seized. She said that a policeman came to her house when she went to farm and enquired about her family. She said there was no freedom to speak out their difficulties and problems and alleged that Mr Naidu’s claim of farmer-friendly government was totally false as he brought the CRDA to snatch fertile lands.
Claiming that round-the-year cultivated lands were unavailable in other areas, she challenged the government to show similar lands before taking their lands. Saying that her daughter is preparing for civil service exam and her son is studying SSC, Ms Rani said that Rs 30,000 per annum offered by the government is insufficient to even pay power bills.
Then how can they live without any income, she asked. She claimed that farmers cannot shun cultivation. She said majority people offering lands under LPS are not professional farmers and asked if ministers P. Narayana and P. Pulla Rao will offer their lands for the new capital.
