Police invoke Goonda Act to check rave party organisers

Dilip Jain was arrested and jailed under the Preventive Detention Act
Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police is now using the Goonda Act to crack down on rave party organisers. The police has arrested 52-year-old Dilip Jain who allegedly brought dancers and sex workers from other cities to Hyderabad for rave parties. Police says that his continuous trafficking of women and organisation of rave parties were disturbing. Dilip Jain was arrested and jailed under the PD Act.
Police booked a case against him under Sub-Section (2) of Section 3 of the AP Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Dacoits, Drug Offenders, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders and Land Grabbers Act.
Senior police officials said that Dilip Jain, who is a resident of Jawahar Colony in Old Bowenpally, has wide contacts in Mumbai, Kolkata and other cities from where he gets women for indecent dances. He also makes arrangements for supplying liquor and sex workers.
“Despite several cases booked against him he continues to engage in these activities brazenly and that has created public disorder,” said a top cop. There are about 300 farmhouses and resorts in Cyberabad police Commissionerate limits spread over 3,700 sq.km. Despite issuing strict instructions to resorts and farmhouse owners they are ignoring rules. But, the police will continue to crack down till they stop, officials said.
