Former MLA of Karwan constituency died due to multiple organ failure

Hyderabad: Mohd. Muqtada Khan alias Afsar Khan, former MLA of Karwan constituency in city, and senior leader of MIM, died early on Friday at a private hospital in Jubilee Hills due to multiple organ failure. He was 65 and is survived by his wife, five daughters and three sons. Afsar Khan represented the erstwhile AP Legislative Assembly from the Karwan Constituency for 11 years.

He was first elected in 2003 byelection and then in 2004 and 2009 elections from the constituency. He was denied the ticket in 2014 election due to his ill health. Afsar Khan was admitted to the private hospital 20 days ago and he was kept on ventilator support for the past 10 days. However, his condition gradually deteriorated and he died of multiple organ failure.

The Namaz-e-Janaza was performed by his elder on Friday afternoon at Azizia Mosque at Mehdipatnam and he was laid to rest at the burial ground in Syed Aliguda of Muradnagar. MIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, MIM Floor Leader in Telangana Legislative Assembly Akbaruddin Owaisi and all the MIM MLAs and hundreds of party workers and his supporters attend the funeral.
