Last batch of kids on way to Bihar

83 kids from various districts of Bihar were sent with police and child welfare officials from Telangana

Hyderabad: The last batch of children who were trafficked from Bihar left for Patna on Thursday. 83 kids from various districts of Bihar were sent along with police and child welfare officials from Telangana in a special railway coach provided by the South Central Railway.

Around 16 children from Bihar will be left in the city as their families have migrated to Hyderabad, said child protection officer Imtiyas. Meanwhile, the 35 kids from West Bengal are still in the city as officials from Kolkata have not responded to Telangana officials. Officials said that it might take four or more days to rehabilitate the kids from West Bengal.

Earlier, police officials had said that there were some kids from Bangladesh among the rescued kids. Cops said their parents had migrated to West Bengal from Bangladesh earlier. However, the officials said they still need to confirm nativity as the kids were from border areas.

“These kids are from border areas. We need to confirm their nationality. Little kids are not able give a clear picture about their nativity since their parents have been on the move since many years,” said an official. The police has take some traders from old city into custody in connection with the child trafficking case
