K Chandrasekhar Rao goes to Delhi with big wish list pertaining to developmental, welfare issues
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will take up several contentious issues pertaining to the AP Reorganisation Act, developmental and welfare issues, pending projects and release of funds under various Central schemes with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union ministers during his five day visit to New Delhi from February 6.
Though Mr Rao is going to Delhi to attend the first meeting of Niti Aayog convened by the PM on February 8, he is taking the opportunity to call on over half a dozen Union ministers to follow up on pending issues with them.
The Special Representative of Telangana in New Delhi, Dr S. Venu-gopala Chary told this newspaper that when Mr Rao meets the PM, he will take up several issues that are proving to be hurdles in the smooth functioning of the state, relating to the AP Reorganisation Act and others, especially denial of the rightful share of power from Krishnapatnam and the Hinduja project.
The CM will also request Mr Modi to support the schemes launched by the state, the handing over of Singareni Collieries to TS after payment of Central share and ensuring the state’s share of power from AP among others.“The appointments of the CM have been fixed with Union ministers for discussing state related issues,” he said.
Mr Rao will request home minister Rajnath to speed up the division of joint institutions as per the Reorganisation Act and will also discuss problems regarding the merger of seven mandals in Khammam.
