Politics is not for me: Nandamuri Kalyan
Nandamuri Kalyan Ram, an actor committed to his work and known for maintaining a low profile, tasted success, after 10 long years in the field, with Patas. The actor is very happy about the hit, but is also aware of the responsibility that comes with success.
“It’s always good to hear the word ‘success’. It has come after a long time for me and I am happy. With this success, the expectations for my upcoming films are high and I have to work harder than earlier,” says Kalyan Ram.
The actor says that he did make mistakes during the past 10 years, but says he has no regrets. “I have learnt a lot from my mistakes. I made a few films with my own formula in the mistaken belief that the audience would like it, but the films were rejected and then I switched gear. That’s how Patas came about,” says the actor. He added that when director Anil narrated the story he smelt success.
“My family has been my biggest support these 10 years. I struggled a lot, but they encouraged me and stood by me. I am happy that I proved myself with this success,” says the actor.
He shared that he wants to expand his production house so he is making films with other actors too. He is producing Kick 2 with Ravi Teja as the lead. “Films are my bread and butter. I know the field and I have the opportunity to expand it. There is nothing wrong,” he says.
When asked about his interest in politics, the actor says, “No. I don’t know anything about politics. My philosophy is, if you know the field then enter. And I don’t know anything about politics,” he says.
When asked about differences within the family, “People talk about a hundred things. I don’t react to such rumours. We are all family. We all live under my grandfather (late) N.T. Rama Rao’s guidance,” he says. “My first choice is always my parents, my family, my films and my work. I don’t have time for anything else,” he says.
