Arjun Rampal summoned by police for meeting imprisoned gangster Arun Gawli

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal has been summoned by the Mumbai Police for meeting underworld gangster Arun Gawli last year without any permission. Gawli, who is serving a life term in connection with the murder of corporator Kalakar Jamsandekar in 2008, had visited JJ hospital for a routine checkup.

Arjun will be essaying the role of Gawli in an upcoming project titled ‘Daddy’, and he reportedly spent almost an hour with Gawli on December 29 last year in the hospital as part of research for the lead role in the film, which is based on Gawli’s life.

The actor will now be interrogated for his meeting with the underworld don without any authorized permission. Reports also stated that, an internal inquiry has also been ordered against the policeman who accompanied Gawli from Taloja jail to the hospital.
