He praised PM for his speech-making and a master communicator
New Delhi: For Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is good, a master communicator but the BJP is bad. He expressed his views on both of them in the middle of the crucial electoral battle for the Delhi Assembly.
Tharoor, who only recently earned the party’s wrath for praising Modi, said that in the Prime Minister, we are all seeing a master communicator at work, but hit out at the BJP for “promoting a nakedly bigoted Hindutva agenda”.
Noting that communication has been a major strength of the NDA government, particularly of Modi, he said, “The Prime Minister is very effective in speech-making. He comes up with slogans, sound bites, photo-ops in quite an unparalleled way.”
“There is no question that we are all seeing a master communicator at work,” he added.
Tharoor praised Modi quite a few times recently, which was frowned upon by the Congress. In 2014, he was removed as party spokesperson for his praises of Mr Modi.
He, however, dismissed rumours that he is cosying up to the BJP, saying he will remain a Congressman always.
