Rajahmundry: School bus rams into car, bike, 3 people dead

The bus was proceeding from Kakinada to Tanuku in West Godavari

Rajahmundry: Three persons died while four others sustained injuries when a private school bus rammed into a car and three bikes overturned at Morampudi Junction oh NH-5 in Rajahmundry in East Godavari on Sunday.

According to Bommuru inspector B Sai Ramesh, the school bus, belonging to Narayana Group of Educational Institutions was proceeding from Kakinada to Tanuku in West Godavari carrying about six persons for YSR Congress chief YS Jagan Mohan’s Ryuthu Deeksha. As several vehicles had stopped at the junction for a red signal, the bus coming at high speed rammed into the car and hit three bikes and overturned them.

Under the impact, two pedestrians and a motorist died. The deceased were identified as Sivaneni Mahalakshmi (70), Inapakolla durga Prasad (13), and Ryalli Venkanna. The injured were identified as Buddhudu, Inapalli Srinivas, I Vijaya Kumar and a Vasantha Kumar. They are undergoing treatment at a private hospitals.

At Vijayawada, five people died as two other were severely injured in a collision between lorry and an autorickshaw at Pedapalaparruin Krishna district.

A lorry on way to Jagaiahpet from Mudinehpalli hit an autorickshaw filled with passengers near a turn at Pedapalaparru. Three persona died on the spot while two others succumbed to injuries on way to the hospital.

Among the dead are Boyina Sambasiva Rao, his wife Ramalakshmi, and Movva Mohan Rao. The other two dead were a 10-year-old boy and a young man. An autorickshaw driver lost both his legs in the accident. Two persons of the same family died on the spot while two others were injured in a road accident Pichatur in Chittor district on Sunday.

According to information, Abdul Khader (60) and his wife Fareeda (45) of Nagari were on their way to Chennai when the accident occurred. Abdul Khader lost control of the speeding vehicle when it rammed into a tree near Pichatur. While the couple died on the spot, two others received minor injuries.
