Ahead of Assembly elections, church vandalised in south Delhi’s Vasant Kunj area

New Delhi: A church was vandalised in south Delhi’s Vasant Kunj area on Monday. The incident is the fifth since December and comes just ahead of the Delhi polls.
According to authorities at St Alphonsa’s church, unidentified people jumped inside the premises of the church and broke opened the main gate.
The men then damaged cupboards, among other property inside the church. More details are awaited.
"We are investigating the incident and scanning the footage of CCTV installed near the church to identify the accused," said a senior police official.

A similar incident had taken place in December in Vikaspuri area of West Delhi. Police had arrested two out of the three accused based on CCTV footage.
