‘I was always on the other side of the camera’

Actress Jacqueline Fernandez admits that her experience as a journalist back home in Sri Lanka helps her understand and deal with the media while promoting her Bollywood projects.

“The progression from being a journalist to an actor has been fantastic. Every single experience of mine has taught me a lot. My experience as a student of journalism in my university and of working on the field for TV taught me about people and how to approach them. I was always on that side of the camera and now being on this side, I kind of understand what it feels like. I now keep an open mind about the kind of questions we face. This experience has me better prepared to face situations.”
