Hyderabad: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti is planning a mega meet in Hyderabad on April 27 on the occasion of the party’s first foundation day celebrations in the new state.
The election of the new party president will also take place the same day. It is a foregone conclusion that TRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will be re-elected. A preparatory meeting regarding arrangements for foundation day celebrations will be held at the RD Convention Centre, Kompally on February 3.
The meeting will discuss steps to strengthen the party and the establishment of units from the village level to state level, membership drive, promoting of welfare and developmental schemes and will review the government’s functioning. Mr Rao will preside over the meeting, according to TRS politburo member and MP B. Vinod Kumar. “The TRS, which led the Telangana movement and formed the government under the leadership of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, will be a formidable force in the state. We are making all arrangements for the Foundation Day celebrations on April 27. The TRS, which was formed as a movement, turned into a political party and formed the government,” Mr Vinod Kumar said. He said that around 3,500 delegates from across the state will attend the February 3 meeting.
