Bridge to link Jubilee hills, IT park in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The city will get another flyover connecting the west zone of Hyderabad and the rapidly developing Cyberabad.
GHMC will build a 300 meter suspension bridge across Durgam Cheruvu lake connecting Jubilee Hills Road No. 45 and Hyderabad Knowledge City (Raidurg IT Park). The long pending project, which is less than half a kilometer, will cater to commuters going to IT Park, Gachibowli and Nanakramguda.
Due to the substantial growth in traffic companies in Hitech City and Gachibowli is facing congestion, especially on Road No. 36 in Jubilee Hills. The hanging bridge will provide connectivity to Hitech City, Gachibowli and surrounding areas.
S. Devender Reddy, chief city planner GHMC said, “The bridge will start from the end of Ambedkar Open University (near Aarogyasri office Jubilee Hills) and end near Mind Space junction. The bridge will be parallel to Madhapur road across the lake. Commuters from Banjara Hills and Jubliee Hills can take the bridge to reach Mind Space junction.”
At present RITES is studying the project and traffic. So far the agency has studied four types of bridges, that is, cable stayed, girder, suspension and arch bridge. In 2013 the previous government had sanctioned Rs 40 crore for the project. However, it is said that the project would need another Rs 20 crore in order to provide roads to the bridge.
