Bridegroom disappears on wedding day

The bride’s relatives lodged a complaint with Two Town police
Kakinada: A dramatic case of a missing bridegroom came to light here on Friday. The bridegroom, Deva Prasad of S. Achutapuram in Kakinada, and the bride from Pendyala village in Nidadavole mandal in West Godavari, exchanged rings with the consent of elders.
All arrangements were made for the wedding ceremony at the bridegroom’s residence and relatives of both parties had arrived to attend the marriage at 10 am on Friday. But, Prasad did not turn up for the ceremony.
Shocked by the event and suspecting foul play, the bride’s relatives lodged a complaint with Two Town police here alleging that they paid Rs 2 lakh as dowry to the bridegroom’s family. Two Town Station house officer D.S. Chaitanya Krishna said that the truth will be known after tracing the bridegroom. He said action will be taken after that.
