Man extracts animal oil, held
Hyderabad: Sleuths of the task force arrested a man named Silar Qureshi for running an unauthorised oil extracting unit for producing oil from animal fats. The police raided the premises along with assistant director, veterinary section, south zone and GHMC officials. The accused Silar Qureshi, 62, is a resident of Old Malakpet.
Task force (East Zone) additional DCP N. Koti Reddy said the accused and his associates were running the unit which extracts oil from cow and buffalo fats and by processing of offals. He melts the animal offals in large vessels in an open place releasing hazardous gases into the atmosphere.
Officials seized 24 barrels of animal fat oil, each weighing 100 kg, 10 kg dried trachea of animals, 40 kg of salted abomasum (animal waste) and a truck. The accused and the material were handed over to the Chaderghat police.
