Chakri was not poisoned: Forensic Science Laboratory

Jubilee Hills police earlier registered a suspicious death case and are investigating

Hyderabad: Nearly a month after the death of Tollywood music director Chakri (Chakradhar) forensic experts from the AP Forensic Science Laboratory ruled out the possibility of poisoning. Earlier, his wife Sravani had raised suspicions about his death.

After examining the bones of Chakri the forensic experts found no heavy metal poisoning. APFSL director A. Sharada said the cops had sent the bones after cremation. When the bones were examined no trace of poisons were found.

“If there was poison, it will be evident in the bones. It wasn’t found in this case.”

However, the FSL couldn’t conduct any test on the viscera as the body was already cremated. While there were reports that the FSL had given reports stating that it was a natural death and there was no foul play, forensic experts said no such report was given to the cops. When contacted Jubilee Hills inspector J. Venkat Reddy said, “We have just sent the bones to the FSL. We haven’t got any report yet. It may take about 15-20 days more.”

Chakri who was active in Tollywood since 2000 and produced many hit albums died on December 15, 2014.

The doubts raised by his wife left many puzzled and forced the police to analyse the bones for poisonous substances. Chakri’s wife Sravani and his mother lodged complaints and counter complaints against one another alleging that his death was not natural. The Jubilee Hills police earlier registered a suspicious death case and are investigating.
