Hyderabad: Citing violations by Telangana of the AP Reorganistaion Act in release of waters to the state, AP has asked the Centre’s intervention and control over Srisailam and Nagarjunasagar.
As per the 11th Schedule of the AP Reorganisation Act, it is the Central government's responsibility to notify from time to time to bring additional responsibilities under the jurisdiction of KRMB.
However, it is not easy for the Centre to take control of the operations of the two reservoirs. After the bifurcation, there was an unofficial arrangement among KRMB, AP and TS that Srisailam operations would be under AP and Nagarjunasagar would be under TS control.
