IAS S N Mohanty granted absence in Jagan Mohan Reddy case
The CBI had shown Mr Mohanty as one of the accused in the case and filed chargesheet against him
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday dispensed with the presence of senior IAS officer S.N. Mohanty before the Special CBI Court in illegal investments case of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy till further orders.
The CBI had shown Mr Mohanty as one of the accused in the case and filed chargesheet against him. The official, who is currently on deputation at the Centre as secretary to higher education department of MHRD moved the High Court seeking to quash the criminal proceedings. He contended that the CBI filed the chargesheet against him without sanction from the government to prosecute him in the case.
While dispensing the presence of the petitioner, Justice U. Durga Prasad Rao posted the case to February 12.
