Election Comission gives clean chit to Kiran Bedi in double voter ID cards row

Bedi had refused to comment on the issue

New Delhi: The Election Commission on Thursday gave a clean chit to BJP's chief ministerial candidate Kiran Bedi, who recently faced flak for holding two voter identity cards with separate addresses.

Earlier on Wednesday, Bedi’s political rivals from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Congress had demanded a thorough probe into the case, saying that this was a clear violation of the EC norms.

Bedi, however, had refused to comment on the issue.

According to EC, the former top cop-turned politician holds only one voter identity card number (TZD1656909).

She has mentioned Uday Park in south Delhi as her residential address in her nomination papers filed from Krishna Nagar constituency.
