Ranbir Kapoor poses as 'big shot' Johnny Balraj in 'Bombay Velvet' teaser poster

Mumbai: Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bombay Velvet’ release has been in the news for quite some time now. And the wait is almost over. The makers released a small glimpse of the first look poster featuring Ranbir Kapoor.

The film's first look will be unveiled on January 29. Ranbir Kapoor plays street fighter Johnny Balraj in one of the most anticipated films of 2015. The film also stars Anushka Sharma and director Karan Johar in a full fledged role.

'Bombay Velvet', based on historian Gyan Prakash's book 'Mumbai Fables', narrates the story of how the city in '60s became a metropolis against the backdrop of love, greed, violence and jazz music. Raveena Tandon, who was slated to play a jazz singer in the film, has opted out of it due to the changes in the sequences in the post-production stage

Recently director Anurag Kashyap denied reports that the film has been postponed again. Kashyap took to Twitter to set the record straight and said that the film will release on its scheduled date that is May 15.
