State funeral for ‘Common Man’ R K Laxman: Maharashtra government
Mumbai: A state funeral will be accorded to eminent cartoonist R K Laxman, who died at the age of 94 after suffering multi-organ failure, officials said.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will attend the last rites of Laxman, who will be accorded the state funeral in Pune today, an official from CMO told PTI.
Government has decided to accord State funeral to Late Shri RK Laxmanji.

Creator of ubiquitous mute spectator 'Common Man', Laxman was admitted to the hospital in Pune on January 17 for urinary infection.

He suffered multi-organ failure and was put on ventilator. He died yesterday.
Laxman, brother of late novelist R K Narayan, is survived by writer wife Kamala, retired journalist son Srinivas and daughter-in-law Usha.
