Obama quotes DDLJ, crashes Web
Shah Rukh Khan might keep getting detained at US airports regularly, but that certainly didn’t stop US President Barack Obama from quoting the actor. Obama, in his last address in New Delhi on Tuesday, quoted SRK, albeit in broken Hindi, from his film (Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge) DDLJ.
The US President spoke about how he was the first president to take “the festival of lights” to the White House. He also mentioned during his last trip to India that he “danced with children and celebrated the festival of lights”. This time, however, since he didn’t have much time, he apologised for “not being able to schedule a dance”.
But the crowd erupted in cheers when Obama made the Bollywood reference and said, “Senorita, bade bade deshon mein... or something like this. You know that...” Well, if PM Modi could quote Star Wars when he went to the US, it’s only fair that Obama quoted King Khan here.
