Punjabi actor Diljit Dosanjh to star opposite Kareena Kapoor in 'Udta Punjab'

Mumbai: The quest for Kareena Kapoor’s hero in ‘Udta Punjab’ has finally come to an end. Initially the role was offered to ‘Vicky Donor’ actor Ayushmann Khurrana, however he reportedly walked out of the project due to the unavailability of dates.

‘Khoobsurat’ actor Fawad Khan was then reportedly roped in to replace Ayushmann and star opposite Kareena. However that turned out to be just a rumour.

Kareena’s hero will be played by Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh, according to reports. The cast of the film has been finalised, and Kareena will be working in the same movie as her former boyfriend Shahid Kapoor, who has been cast opposite Alia Bhatt.

This will be the second time Shahid and Alia are teaming up for a movie after Vikas Bahl’s ;Shaandaar’.

Reports also stated that director Abhishek Chaubey and his team will commence shooting sometime in the end of February, as the team is still scouting for locations and finalising the characters’ looks.
